My GlassesUSA Nightmare: A Warranty Battle Over a Defective Coating 😤
I'm writing this as a warning to anyone considering GlassesUSA. My experience started out fine, but quickly devolved into a customer service nightmare over a clear product defect. I felt I had no choice but to share my story. Everything about working with GlassesUSA was great until the glasses defect surfaced. I paid for premium lenses including the $48 extra for the Super Hydrophobic coating. These lenses are nearly impossible to clean. I’ve worn glasses for 60 years and this is a first. After being offered a measly 50% credit for a defective product under a "365 day warranty," I was forced to contact them again to get a real resolution.
Customer: I'm contacting you again about order #105180754. The premium coating I paid for is defective, and offering me a 50% store credit to return a faulty product is unacceptable. This is a warranty issue.
CS Rep: I apologize for your frustration. I can see your case notes. The 50% credit is our standard procedure, but I understand this seems to be a quality issue.
Customer: It is a quality issue. I have nine pairs from your competitor and none of them have this problem. I just want a replacement with the coating applied correctly. Why am I being told I have to wait 3-5 days for a review team to email me?
CS Rep: You are right, that is not an ideal experience. Let me bypass that process for you. Given the circumstances, I can approve a direct, no-cost replacement order for your lenses. We want to make this right.
The reason I left this review on the website is to hopefully prevent others from falling into the same trap and to show that sometimes you have to be persistent to get a company to honor its own warranty.
